About This Course

Group work is where a lot of school stress lives. This course gives students practical ways to handle it: dividing tasks fairly, saying what you think without a row, and keeping a project moving when somebody is not pulling their weight.

It is built around situations students will recognise — a science project, a drama production, a sports team — rather than abstract advice.

Aimed at Key Stage 2 and 3, and useful well beyond school.

Kate is a secondary maths teacher and head of year in Birmingham. She works mostly with students who arrive in Year 7 already convinced maths is not for them, and has a long track record of getting them to a confident GCSE pass. Her approach is unfussy: small steps, lots of practice, and never moving on until the class is genuinely ready.
