This course covers two of the most important topics in secondary maths: algebra and geometry. It's aimed at students working at Key Stage 3 through to GCSE level, and follows the structure of the UK National Curriculum for maths.
Lessons build from the basics — simplifying expressions and solving equations — through to angle rules and area and perimeter calculations, with a quiz and an exam-style problem set to consolidate learning.
This course includes 2 modules, 6 lessons, and 0:54 hours of materials.
Learn what algebraic expressions are and how to simplify them by collecting like terms.
Learn the rules for solving one-step and two-step linear equations to find the value of x.
Learn the key angle facts and the properties of triangles, quadrilaterals and other polygons.
Calculate the area and perimeter of rectangles, triangles and compound shapes.
Test your understanding of simplifying expressions, solving equations, angles, and area and perimeter.
Solve the six linear equations and two word problems in the attached worksheet. Show all your working — marks are awarded for method as well as the final answer.
