Solving an equation means finding the value of the unknown that makes it true. The golden rule is: whatever you do to one side of the equation, you must do to the other.
For example, to solve x + 7 = 15, we subtract 7 from both sides to get x = 8. We work through one-step and two-step equations, including ones with brackets.
