Angles and Properties of Shapes
Learn the key angle facts and the properties of triangles, quadrilaterals and other polygons.

Angles on a straight line add up to 180°, angles around a point add up to 360°, and the angles in a triangle always add up to 180°. These facts let us work out missing angles without measuring.
We also look at the properties of common shapes — for example, a square has four equal sides and four right angles, while a parallelogram has two pairs of parallel sides.
