Area and Perimeter
Calculate the area and perimeter of rectangles, triangles and compound shapes.
Study Duration
15 Min
Perimeter is the total distance around the outside of a shape, while area measures the space inside it. For a rectangle, area = length × width — so a 6cm by 4cm rectangle has an area of 24cm².
We also cover the area of a triangle (½ × base × height) and how to break compound shapes into simpler rectangles and triangles to find their total area.
