Everyday objects are made from materials like wood, plastic, metal, glass and fabric. Each material has different properties — for example, metal is hard and shiny, while fabric is soft and bendy.
We look around the classroom and at home for objects made from different materials, and talk about why each material was chosen for its job — for example, why windows are made of glass, not wood.
